What is the RIDDOR course about?
This eLearning course gives guidance on how the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) applies to dental practices.
What is RIDDOR and how does it apply to the dental practice?
RIDDOR requires employers and others to report deaths, certain types of injury, some occupational diseases and dangerous occurrences that ‘arise out of or in connection with work’. Generally, this covers incidents where the work activities, equipment or the environment (including how work is carried out, organised or supervised) contributed in some way to the circumstances of the accident.
RIDDOR reports alert the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to whether an incident needs investigating, if there is a health and safety risk or if there are trends developing.
